In 2016 the government proposed a requirement that new, heavy trucks have potentially life-saving software that would electronically limit speeds. It has been delayed indefinitely by the Transportation Department as part of a retreat from various regulations.

Congress
State partisanship is shifting toward the Democrats as the 2018 election is on the horizon. The following is based on adults being asked for their party identification and if they say they are independent they are probed for the party leanings. (Solid states are those in which a party has a 10 point or greater advantage; leaning states are those in which a party has an advantage of 5-10 points; competitive states are those in which the advantage of either party is 5 points or less.)

Restaurant: Passion Fish
Debbie and I have eaten dinner three times at Passion Fish. The first visit was with Florence and Peter, the second with Gail and the third with Peter and Florence and Bonnie and Lou.
The second visit did not diminish our positive feelings after the first visit and the third visit continued the positive pattern.
